You have to wonder what they were thinking. I can imagine the stockboys in the back of the store snickering over this.  I felt a little weird taking a close-up picture of the chicken and I’m sure any store employees who might have seen me had to wonder what I was up to.  I’ve been told that people with cameras in grocery stores sometimes get kicked out if the managers think there might be some competitive espionage going on.  I managed to accomplish the mission without any such trouble. I can’t wait until they bring out the breasts.

Don’t get me wrong.  I have always liked this dramatic mural by Elkhart artist Kelby Love.  It’s painted on the side of a bar just about three blocks or so south of the Main Street rail crossing.  Today, however, I couldn’t help noticing that the central figure seems to be looking for something in the dumpster below.
