My Dad, Dr. A. C. Dufour, sitting on his deck at Birch Lake near Vandalia, Michigan.  Fell asleep in the chair while we were talking.

Barn, Union, Michigan

On the road north from Union, Michigan’s one stoplight is this barn.  Until a few years ago, I think there was a farmhouse next to it.  A couple of weeks ago, my daughter Demarée and I took a “photo expedition” to the site and looked around.  The barn seems to be used to some degree, but the floors seemed a little too risky for us to actually walk on.

Some of the pictures in the gallery here have been manipulated using an HDR plug-in that helps approximate a number of photo-chemistry effects that can otherwise only be done in a darkroom.
